Health Care Costs

Health care costs are an ever-growing conversation and concern. However, chiropractic care is able to help people get better and improve for a fraction of the cost of sometimes even just one hospital visit.

One study followed individuals for an episode of low back pain and the cost of that treatment. The average cost for someone going to a chiropractor was about $450, and this is from start to finish for an average. The average cost for going to your primary care, not emergency room, is about $750. I know it is not exact, but that is getting close to double the cost of your chiropractic treatment. Digging a little deeper, the individual going to a chiropractor first may see 1 or 2 professionals in the course of treatment. While those who are seeing their primary care provider are seeing 3 or 4 people in their course of care. This portrays a lot as well. First off, going to a chiropractor will avoid prescription medication. For those wanting to avoid medication, this is a great option, but understanding this may be needed in some circumstances. Two, you will save money by not having to visit numerous providers to get the care that you need. Three, typically getting into a chiropractor can be within a few hours to days versus sometimes weeks and months to get into your primary care provider or go to the emergency room and have significantly higher costs. This will mean that you can start treatment quickly to address the concern, which tends to help you heal faster. If you want to spend less money, start feeling better faster, and not have to take medications, chiropractic wins in all three of those categories.

Here at Summit to Shore Chiropractic, we offer a lot of options to get you better faster and give you the tools to help yourself if and when this pain returns down the road. As you may have seen with some of our online reviews, we are able to get people in quickly to start their care and provide the treatment and tools needed to improve. Wherever you are with your health care needs, remember this when you start feeling neck pain, back pain, foot pain, shoulder pain, etc. that going to a chiropractor will likely be cheaper and get you better faster. Chiropractic is a great option to start treatment. Of course, there are always exceptions and chiropractors cannot treat everything or have all the tools needed but can make an assessment and point you in the direction you need to go for further evaluation. But even if you need to be referred out, you can get the ball rolling quickly by visiting your chiropractor first. We are trying to help you manage your concerns as best we can, while trying to keep things affordable for you at the same time. The infographic is linked here.
