Support Your Body

What can you do now to help yourself in the long run? The take home message is that a little bit goes a long way. There are so many studies that portray the idea that a little bit of exercise can improve life such as decreasing your chances of cardiovascular disease. There is the option of changing things a little everyday or even just changing a little overall. With most of my patients coming, I usually try and give them something to do. This could be something like stop sitting like this or move this way to try and pick things up and be active instead of how you were moving. I don’t expect any of us to be able to change from working out zero days a week to working out 7 days a week or change from eating junk daily to eating perfect every day. However, a little difference in those things now will make a difference further and further down the road in our lives. There are lot of different ways you can help to support your body. There is definitely the physical side of things that I work on a lot, the nutritional side of eating healthy and getting your body what it needs, as well as the mental side and giving your body and mind time to rest and regenerate. Our minds portray to our body where we want to go, and if our minds are not given what they need physically and nutritional, you will not end up where you want to be. I repeat, a little bit goes a long way. If you are working out a 1 day a week, maybe push it to 2 days or ever a little longer 1 day a week. As for nutrition, maybe focus on eating well 1 meal a day or 1 day a week. Everyone is different, but a little change will help you get to where you want to go if you are patient. Enjoy your day!

Moderate activity, such as brisk walking for 30 to 60 minutes a day most days of the week, is associated with significant reductions in the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular disease.
