Adapting to New Seasons

On location on my bike at the top of Tahoe Mountain. What should you expect coming off of such an amazing winter season here in South Lake Tahoe? A lot of you have probably skied quite a few days and your cardiovascular health might be pretty good. However, spring and summer activities are different, and you should ease into these newer activities. Whether that is biking, hiking, or just being outside, make sure you give yourself a little extra time and water and then take it a little easier those first couple times. Don’t forget a proper cool down especially at this point. Making sure you do these things will help make sure you don’t get too sore, or don’t get injured right off the bat so that you can continue to perform these activities on great Tahoe days. The most common problems are people push into things too fast and get overuse injuries because they are using different muscles and activities than what they are used to and your body is not quite ready for that much of a quick change. Our bodies are great at adapting but give them some time to adapt and your body will thank you. We’ll see you out on the trails.

Get in for your treatment now so you can be ready for the awesome summer activities South Lake Tahoe has to offer.
